Shoutouts:

A few days ago Julien Frelat sent me an email with a video I posted a link for his Silverlight Quake running on a Silverlight VM:... pretty darned amazing...

This is a tad outside a normal SC post, but it's on everyone's mind, and Colin Eberhardt has a whitepaper up on it:

From:

Andrea Boschin has a post up at SilverlightShow on Content Controls... the nodes in the hierarchy in which other controls may be hosted... he kicks this off by creating a ContentControl from scratch.

Manas Patnaik has begun a series discussing Resources in Silverlight... beginning with a brief discussion of Resource Files, how they can be stored and managed... source included.

Alex van Beek's latest is a good discussion of Optimistic Concurrency on the client and server side... he's showing how to deal with optimistic concurrency in EF and WCF RIA Services...

Michael Washington has his latest LightSwitch post up on his new blog site... and is discussing the filter extension feature... another great tutorial in the style you'd expect from him, and the source code.

Kunal Chowdhury goes back to the basics with a discussion of the AppManifest.xaml file... he goes through the contents of the file completely... so if you haven't seen this before, check it out.

Kunal Chowdhury also has another of his 'Tips' series... this one on Formatting and binding text usin the "Run" tag in xaml.

Kunal Chowdhury's latest post is on of his 'Tips' series, demonstrating using binding inside a text formatting line in XAML.

Michael Crump is responding to a reader query with a good introductory post to INPC... if you don't have your head wrapped around that yet... here's a good kick-off point... some good comments to the post as well.

Richard Waddell has jumped in on the Lightswitch train with a new post on Michael Washington's LightSwitch Help Website... demonstrating creating a User Registration with multiple relationships... in LightSwitch, of course.

It seems lots of people are working on INPC solutions, and Jeremy Likness is one... he's got one here for you that works for Silverlight 4 and will work even better in 5, but won't work in WP7... 2 out of 3 aren't too shabby...

Mike Taulty has a good 'Rough Note' up about Trusted Apps in the Browser, with user permission of course, but very cool.

I found this post by Alexandra Rusina by way of Mike Taulty... thanks Mike!... great post on Silverlight 5 Beta ICustomTypeProvider and data binding to objects the structure of which cannot be known until run-time.

Pete Brown has a series of posts up on Silverlight 5... this one is on debugging bindings with XAML breakpoints in Silverlight 5 Beta... boy if that's not FTW, I'm not sure what is!

Stay in the 'Light!
