From:
Dave Davis has a post up that revisits a subject he covered once, but this time he's doing it without MEF... Controlling Child windows in a strict MVVM app, including passing information to and from the child windows.
Oren Gal's latest is on creating an application using the ESRI Silverlight API connected both ways to Microsoft CRM... a 'beginner' post discussing the GPS module of the app.
This is a two-fer from Colin Eberhardt... first a post on his blog about autocreating INPC code using T4 templates.... this is the accompanying post to a larger on on CodeProject: Declarative Codesnippet Automation with T4 Templates
Dan Wahlin has a great post up on Silverlight and User Names and Roles.... this is in response to an attendee at his talk at DevConnections in Orlando, and he's discussing general techniques for accessing user names and working with roles to block access to views and show or hide controls.
Continuing with Jeff Prosise's WP7 programming tips, here's number 6 on the subject of Obscured and Unobscured events which could help you get past certification if you're having problems with calls coming in while your app is running.
Jeff Prosise's WP7 programming tip number 7 is on tombstoning a MediaElement... probably want to check this out if you're doing anything with media.
I found this by way of Silverlight's own Regional Director, Laurent... it's a tool by @yuriylsh to grab all the videos from MIX11 in the format and order you like... this is going on my WynApse.com sidebar if you lose track of it.
Bill Reiss is a game developer and has great insight into building such things, and in this post is talking about his SilverSprite project which is a Silverlight implementation of XNA's Spritebatch... and he's looking to convert YOUR code... what an offer!
Richard Waddell is taking some hints from Michael Washington apparently, and jumping into Lightswitch... He's got a 'prototype' up of a project for work... looks like the real deal to me... great tutorial lots of diagrams and explanation.
Andrea Boschin is posting some good Silverlight 5 Beta material, beginning with this one on the 3D functionality by plotting a 3D 'scene'... with sourcecode...
Custom Markup Extensions... yowzer!... Andrea Boschin's latest is all over that... read it now then go give it a dance.
András Velvárt was doing some interviewing of folks at MIX11, and he's begun putting them up on his blog... first up is an interview with Nokia's Wai Seto, what WP7 means to them, and their commitment to the platform.
Stay in the 'Light!
