Shoutouts:
Andy Wigley posted this today from appamundi:
From:
Roy Dallal posted an entry about being tasked with right-clicking a map and having it open a window to Google Street View... scroll a bit down in the post to see the screenshot... looks great, and he's talking through all the code.
Rudi Grobler's latest post is on Tombstoning, and how he handles it from someone with experience with the Marketplace, and he provides some extension method 'tombstone helpers', and uses them in a sample app.
Jeff Prosise's WP7 tip #2 is on an alternative to adding System.ServiceModel.Syndication to get syndication... Jeff suggests simply using LINQ to XML to do the trick for you.
Jeff Prosise then has a post on a workaround for the fact that returning from being tombstoned to a Pivot Control containing more than 3 items is going to fail to restore your app because of the order of events... and the solution is small!
Jesse Liberty's latest post (#50 in his 'From Scratch' series) is a revisit to his post on adding Application Bar buttons because he found the one he was working with to be null. A quick search helped him fix that courtesy of Laurent Bugnion.
Morten Nielsen has a post up about planar transforms on the WP7... ok so I had to look at the pictures, but you'll want to check this out once you see what he's up to... just watch the videos and you'll be hooked.
Derik Whittaker has a post up about something I've not seen yet... capturing a signature on WP7... really...
Peter Torr follows up a post about tombstoning with this one containing a great code sample of how to use the databinding pattern to save state.
Xianzhong Zhu has a 3-part series up on WP7 programming at DotNetSlackers... this part 1 is on MultiTouch and manipulation related operations... including some nice demo apps to show what's going on.
Adam Kinney discusses the Back and Search button on WP7 devices that cause new users no small amount of difficulty... he includes a video of how the Facebook app deals with it, and then follows up with a bunch of good information.
Stay in the 'Light!
