Silverlight Cream for July 05, 2010 -- #897

In this Issue: Davide Zordan, Alex van Beek, Michael Washington, Jag Reehal, Gill Cleeren, Rob Eisenberg, and Laurent Bugnion.

Shoutouts:

András Velvárt has a video of an awesome demo of his MIX10 Zoomery app running on WP7: Windows Phone 7 - Mix App

John Papa posted all this material from the Tamp Silverlight User Group meeting:

It wasn't clear from his email, but Rudi Grobler's looks like something on-going, so you may want to bookmark that page and check back... there's some good stuff going on there already.

From:

Davide Zordan has posted about his CodePlex project that Laurent referenced in his post. This is a good place to bookmark as a reference for multi-touch behaviors.

Alex van Beek compares Flex4 and Silverlight 4 in the controls skinning department... which is best?... read his post to find out what Alex thinks.

Michael Washington has a nice tutorial up on communication between Master and Child ViewModels. Lots of Blend goodness going on in the tutorial... and all the source.

Jag Reehal has a post up that responds to a question I hear a lot about converting a SketchFlow prototype to "the real app"... We've all seen the article on doing so, but should we? Jag says no... read why

Gill Cleeren has part 1 of a two parter at SilverlightShow on Duplex Communication. Nice tutorial describing where and why you want this, then a possible implementation, plus the code.

Rob Eisenberg took some requests and a personal challenge and squashed Caliburn down to Caliburn.Micro and still retaining all the goodness. Check out the post then check out the code - thanks Rob!

Laurent Bugnion posted a couple videos on his site detailing a WP7 multi-touch behavior he's been working on, and how to use it. Everything will be on CodePlex shortly (maybe now).

Stay in the 'Light!
