Silverlight Cream for January 09, 2010 -- #773

In this Issue: Bob Bartholomay, Crick Waters, Jim O'Neil, Bill Reiss(2), Katrien De Graeve, smartyP, and Rishi(2, 3).

From:

With a very cool example, Bob Bartholomay demonstrates his RotateRefresh Behavior to give users a visual that something can be refreshed and is being refreshed.

In this Channel 9 presentation, Crick Waters of BT/Ribbit discusses Ribbit for Silverlight... the first controls are mainly focused on phone apps: calls, conference calls, voice mail, and SMS... also check out a wad of other Channel 9 videos on Ribbit.

The Northeast Roadshow has a video up on Channel 9 with Jim O'Neil discussing MVVM, and then using it to build an RSS reader.

Bill Reiss posted a video of a presentation he gave on developing Games in Silverlight.... 30 minutes of goodness!

Bill Reiss also has a great tip posted about checking your Silverlight apps with the browser zoomed just to see if there's anything hinky going on.

Katrien De Graeve has begun a SketchFlow series of posts. Check out her link to an intro post... lots of links there to external sources, and prior articles by her that have already appeared in SC.

smartyP discusses region layering in Prism in the manner he calls Street Fighter Style... good discussion and screenshots taken from his experience.

.aspx")

Rishi has up Part I of a deep dive into nRoute's Resource Locator Framework -- sort of like an IoC registry

-A-Sample-App.aspx")

In Part II of his nRoute RLF series, Rishi built an app using RLF to collect search results from RSS feeds... with all the code on CodePlex

Rishi's 3rd part in the trilogy of posts I hadn't commented on yet is about Reverse ICommands in MVVM -- execute an ICommand in the ViewModel and trigger something in the View -- again with code.

Stay in the 'Light!
