In this Issue:
From:
Sergey Barskiy has an Isolated Storage Database for Silverlight 3 out on CodePlex. It is Object Oriented, supports encryption, compression, and lazy loading. He also has a chm file for documentation!
Michael Washington started with a Behavior post and decided he had to figure out how to write one. This tutorial walks you through those steps.
Katrien De Graeve gives a complete OOB experience detailing the new Visual Studio hookup for the settings.
Brad Abrams has been going great guns with this LOB series. I'm behind but I'll catch up:) This is part 2 and is all about Data Queries and binding, filtering, validation... love the tutorial and the graphics.
Chris Klug walks us through the process of finding an unwanted interaction between transparency and effects such as drop shadow.
Kirupa Chinnathambi has a post up talking about the latest Deep Zoom Composer and the enhancements to it in the area of large collections. This looks like a great tutorial on the composer.
Tim Heuer explains in detail the ins and outs of Cached Assemblies... how and why to do it and also some things to look out for.
Koen Zwikstra shows us how to do page transitions. I'm not a big fan of the PPT style transititions, but I like what Koen has in his sample... and of course he has all the code available:)
John Papa has updated the code for his MSDN Magazine article and has a list of the changes on his post. The updates all are in the OOB changes in Silverlight 3.
David Anson announes a new project of his called Silverlight/WPF Data Visualization Development. At this point, there's nothing new for Silverlight, but he brings WPF into alignment with the latest Silverlight release with this. You want to run both platforms... this sounds like a good project to watch.
Jeff Blankenburg turned the reigns over to Rick Kierner for this post about Effects (Blur and DropShadow).
Jeff Blankenburg gave Matt Casto the nod on this post and Matt discusses Pixel Shader Effects. He also demonstrates adding your own shader.
Stay in the 'Light!
