From:
Modesty Zhang sent me this 2nd Cairngorm post yesterday and I forgot to bring the info with me, so I'm doubling back to it today:) In this post she adds Thread-Safety to the code to provide capability of using multi-threads in Silverlight with the Silverlight Cairngorm package. This is a piece of work that's been on-going for a while and the posts are very complete. Check out the demo and code!
Modesty Zhang had another post for me today, and this one is all about loading packages at run-time as needed in your Silverlight apps. Links out to other references are given as well as good info and code.
Marek Latuskiewicz is just starting to blog what his group is doing with visualizations (at Microsoft). It will be interesting to see what they come up with, and can show:)... this first one is animating a panel with attached properties... go grab the code and have a ball!
I think I found this on an MSDN feed, but is an older post by Junnark Vicencio. I haven't seen it before and looks very cool. I tried to find Part 1, but either lack the skills to do so, or it's hidden away. If you have the link to Part 1, add it as a comment please!
Brian Mains has a nice intro to the container controls in Silverlight out on ASPAlliance... small code snippets and info.
Rishi put up a large descriptive post of how nRoute fits into the MVVM bucket to satisfy the big run on MVVM recently. Check out all the work he's put into nRoute.
Koen Zwikstra is discussing the WebPackageReader in his Document Toolkit. Even if you're not going to use his Document Toolkit, there's good info in here if you're looking at XPS documents.
Nikhil Kothari always has these lightweight articles out there... lol... seriously folks... if anybody can put together 2 word sentences that I can't understand, Nikhil is the one:)... his latest post is a cornucopia of Silverlight.FX,.NET RIA Services, oh brother... just go check it out!
Michael S. Scherotter talks about Alpha video and talks about the WPF Pixel Shader Library on CodePlex that now has Silverlight 3 as part of it... did ya know that? Well, Michael started with that and produced a ChromaKeyAlphaEffect for Blend that you can download and use.
Lee customized the DataPager to allow changing the page size at run-time... too cool:) He also added some custom UI changes... and gave us the code:)
Stay in the 'Light!
