The most common problem caused by the foundation settling is the appearance of gaps. Usually the gaps are vertical which are caused by the foundation settlement. It begins with a small gap of ½ inches but can grow over the years and pose a large problem. If you do not attend this problem in time, the foundation can settle 2 to 4 inches in ground and less than 1 to 1 ½ inches is quite severe.

Along with that, over the years some of the areas of your foundation began to settle. One part of the foundation usually sink first while the other sink later making the floor imbalance and totally out of level. Although the weight on the load bearing is equal on all side of the house but the moisture content may vary.
