MDC - Pre-pre-day :-D

Back to MDC, those were great days in MDC 2004, (I wrote about that before). Today, just half an hour after writing this post, I'll be on my way to the pre-conference day of the MDC. I set a post category for it here and I intend to blog about it daily after I return; Sure, I won't promise you with a complete summary of the sessions content or even a deep technicl content, but, I'll do my best to get good posts around.

In my pre- pre-conference day post I just wanted to say I'll blog so that I don't just get too lazy (or roo tired) to write about it. I also wanted to try to set my pre-changing-mind aganeda in MDC according to the officiel detailed conference agaenda. Before that I just want to say that I missed Dan Fernandez (VC# Product Manager, a speaker of MDC 2004 and one of the greatest MSDN stars) so much this year. (List of this years' spkears)

Today, I'll attend all sessions as there'll be only one in parallel for each peiod, but, still the most important session to me is the 1st one. It starts at 10:00 A.M., entitled “Exploiting Visual Studio.Net to Extend Microsoft Office 2003 Using XML, Smart Documents, and Information Bridge Framework” and given by Eng. Ahmed Bahaa, the 1st guy in IT Egypt, the most famous teaching staff at C.S faculty in Helwan Univ. amd a great expert in Microsoft technologies. He gave a great session about ADO.NET last year. Yet, I don't know anything about the other speakers today, but I'll hopefully attend all the 7 sessions of the day till 7:00 P.M..

In day1, I'll start with the Communications/IT minister and then Bill Gates' key notes for sure :-D, then I don't know what session to attend, the next two sessions look same priliant for me “Connected Systems Overview”&Lap Around VS 2005: IDE Enhancements”. They are both useful and for speakers I knew well from last year, the first is for Rafal Lukawiecki whom I missed his sessions about somethings related to security or administration (don't remember well) and MSF last year for other ones then knew from the attendees how great in OOP and eXtreme Programming he was (especially in the MSF session), the second is for Patrick Hynds, one of the most speakers that people liked in MDC 2004 and the one I kept e-mailing for long till I lost his mail :-(. I'll tell later what I choosed then.Rest of the day I'll attend “VSTS: Managing the Software Lifecycle” for Hans Verbeeck, the left sessions of the day are 1 session per period.

In day 2, I'll have the same problem with “Lap Around VS 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0” for Patrick J. Hynds and “Envisioning the Service Oriented Enterprise”for Rafal Lukawiecki in 1st period. 2nd period: “Building Smart Documents and Research Services” for Goksin Bakir (may help me with my current project) and afterwards“Patterns and Practices” for Rafal Lukawiecki. After lunch I'll check “Visual C# 2005: Language Enhancements“ for Abdelmalek Kemmou , If I don't get convinced (I read about the topic from advanced people like Dan Fernandez) I'll turn quickly to “SQL Server 2005: SQLCLR for developers“ for Hans Verbeeck Finally “Building secure applications with Membership and Role Management using Visual Studio 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0“ for Hossam Khalifa, if also not convinced (I saw the code room, remember ;-) ?) I'll end up to “Interoperability and Integration using Web Services“ for Abdelmalek Kemmou instead.

Day 3, I'll start with Using Visual Studio 2005 to build data-driven applications in ASP.NET 2.0“ for Abdelmalek Kemmou, then “Building Localized/Globalized Applications on VS 2005” for Dina Lasheen. After lunch I'll check “Programming with Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System Version 2005” for Gurkan Salk, if if I don't feel much related, I'll try “Visual Basic 2005” for Hossam Khalifa as the 4 sessions for that period are not so special to me at least.  Fianally, I'll have my last technical session with “Microsoft Solutions Framework 3.0 Overview and Application” for Ahmed Badr not Rafal this time :s. Then I'll stay for the closing session in hope to win anything like my MCAD track last year :-).

Sure, as muslim, I just need to say that those are what I intend to do, but, it's all God willing. Maybe I'll cange it aferwards or whatever happens. I only ask God to make me have the best out of the conference. Now, I'm already late for the conference, sorry for any spelling mistakes as I wrote this very quickly and I don't have time to review it. see you tonight ;-).
