Somehow French overcame everybody and moved from “being stuck with Minitel” to “20+ Mbps ADSL 2+ at 15 euro/month“. Even cooler - free.fr offers over 200 (80+ for free) channels of digital TV and telephone with free long distance along with their 20 Mbps ADSL for 30 euro/month.
It takes about 50 minutes to transcode 200MB PAL to NTSC on 850 Mhz CPU, thus it would take about 14-16 hours to transcode 3.7GB Wedding movie.Plus, DVDIt author DVD in about 45 minutes. On 1.6 Ghz CPU it takes about 15 minutes for 200 MB with crop and de-interlace, thus 3.7 GB could be done in about 5 hrs
