I'm in shock this morning. Richard “The Hamster” Hammond the Top Gear presenter has ended up in hospital as a result of trying to break the landspeed record after an accident occurred. He was airlifted to Leeds General Hospital where his condition is stated as “Stable”. He was trying to take a jet powered drag car to speeds in excess of 300mph when it vered to one side and crashed. :( The BBC and Health and Safety Executive are apparently investigating the accident.) Lets just hope he is OK!
Richard Hammond is renowned around the world for his fun and crazy feats on Top Gear. He has many fans and supporters here in the UK and all over the world. Many of you will be in the same shock as I am.
My thoughts are with Richard and his wife!
