I have been working with the Microsoft Consulting team for a while now. This is a great example of how even a little infrastructure knowledge can help you go a long way, and potentially save a project. Have a look at this post: http://blogs.msdn.com/morgan/archive/2009/01/14/bigip-can-save-the-day.aspx . Being able to architect an application is great, but we often ignore the fact that all applications need to be deployed on infrastructure often out-dated and not fully understood. Morgan and I worked on this project and are trying to show that there are things you cannot write in an application, and it is cheaper and more efficient to use intelligent infrastructure. This helped us a lot and potentially saved our project. I hope it helps you as well.
