I've done it. I gave my notice on Friday to leave the ERP software developer I currently work for to do the IT programming work for a manufacturer. I'm very excited by the transition, because I will get to continually do what I love and as the icing on the cake I get to do it for a private company with good people that still has the right idea about how business should be ran.
