A plea: Stop the insanity!!!!

Just a short post to request something of the Web community at large. Basically, here's the deal:

I love your long, detailed, carefully crafted Flash animation. Really. I mean that. I can appreciate that it was time-consuming and difficult..

Really. I mean that.

I really love it the first time....and probably the second time. If it's especially cool, probably the third time as well. However, after that, it probably begins to lose its "freshness". Eventually, it may get to be so tiresome, I'll just avoid your site altogether. 'Specially if it's a eCommerce site and not a buddy's.

So, as a polite reques, please either:

1) Reduce the size to something reasonable (a couple of seconds)

2) Give me the option to bypass it

3) Or, don't show it all and give me the option to see it. (DING, DING...we have a winnah!)

Sheri and I looked at sites over the weekend looking for her a wedding dress. So, so, so many of these sites want to show you the longest, most insipid animations ever....EVERY time you go to them. Oy.......

Very simple solution to your problem: use Mozilla's open source browser Firefox. With Firefox, one of the many hundreds of user-created extensions is a brilliant one called Flashblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/433/). Automatically blocks all Flash animations until/unless you click on an icon in the animation window, which starts it. One of the many, many reasons Firefox is so superior to Explorer, Netscape, Opera, etc.
