Who would every believe that our local DotNetNuke user group membership would reach 100 online users. During the summer of 2007, I wanted to start a local DotNetNuke user group in our area. I first went to the DotNetNuke site and clicked on the Join A User Group Today link. At that location, you can find a local existing user group or start your own. We started our meetings on a Saturday after I constantly polled new members as to when they wanted to have a meeting. You can't please everyone on a ...
Update Presentation slides and sample are now available. Please click here to find them! Yeah, somehow dotNETwork decided to allow me to show all my psychopath about design and implementation in a session with a very weird long title, “Applying Domain Driven Design on ASP.NET MVC”. Yeah, two unrelated topics. In 2 hours frame, I should be introducing day to day development styles from a different perspective. I had a small talk about the process side of the world. This time we move towards the other ...

The Orlando DotNetNuke User Group had a geat meeting on Saturday. The morning started early when Mike Webb and Dave Dyer made the trip in for 10 am from Vero Beach to Orlando. Dave was going to update the older version of DotNetNuke that Lake Highland Prep had running on their server to the current version and he wanted to view everything first before he started the intallation process. Dave had started the install process and just ran into one problem regarding the new folder structure and was able ...
What is an Office Geek? An Office Geek is someone - typically a developer or administrator - who works with or is interested in working with some aspect of the Microsoft Office System. The Office System encompasses both client applications (Word, Excel, etc) as well as server applications (primarily SharePoint, but also Forms Server, workflow, etc). This could mean that you work with SharePoint, use VSTO to write OBAs, define taxonomies, maintain corporate records, etc. I found this little blurb ...
dotNETwork third gathering has been announced. It's Saturday of the 3rd week of the month as planned since the 2nd gathering. If you are unfamiliar with dotNETwork as a whole, that's simply (as I mentioned before here & here) the first big offline .NET usergroup in Egypt. So far the main activity of the group though is to provide FREE monthly events ton .NET related topics, focusing on the latest topics that matter for the average .NET developers. Windows WorkFlow Foundation, AKA, Mohammed Hossam ...
This weekend I attended an awesome event in Dallas, TX, the Community Leader Summit. Soon to become CommunityCamp. Thanks Caleb for organizing this event. There were user groups there represented by a huge cross section of the user community. Everything from .NET to Podcasting, and Joomla. It was very interesting to see that even though our groups are focused on different technologies that we all struggle with the same things. And it was great to see how other groups has solved them. I am sure the ...
