Tell a Friend Flake at Pageflakes (www.pageflakes.com) using .Net2.0 and Atlas

Recently I posted my Tell a Friend Flake at Pageflakes (www.pageflakes.com). You can add this Flake from the Add Content.

Pageflakes is a personalized startpage that lets you read news and blogs, start Web searches, maintain an address book, manage To-Do-Lists and much more, all from one page.

Try writing your own Flake and post it to www.pageflakes.com. There is also a Developers documentation available http://www.pageflakes.com/devdoc/developer_documentation.htm.

Pageflakes is built using the POWER of .Net Framework 2.0, Atlas, Asp.Net2.0,C#.

How I have written the Tell A Friend Flake:

Its very simple
Step1: I created a asp.net2.0 page.
Step2: I created a Webservice
Step3: Used Atlas Framework, Atlas controls and made them communicate with the Webservice. (Like you do in any atlas pages.)
Step4: Copied couple of lines of script on the page following the pageflakes developers documentation.

Thats it. It is really that easy. Try yourselves you will be amazed to see how easy it is to develop a Flake.

Enjoy Flaking.....

Hi,
Did you know about Microsoft Live.Com and personalized Google.com hompage? What do you think of them compared to your preferance?

Yes I am very aware of live.com and personalized google. From the developers point of view developing writing a Flake is far more easier than any of them. If you know how to develop pages using Atlas, Asp.Net 2.0 you already know how to write a Flake. There is no new learning necessary. The best part is while writing the "Tell a Friend Flake" I have written it entirely using Visual Studio 2005. That makes life easy right...

Again you are not restricticted to write Flakes in asp.net and atlas. You can write Flakes using php etc with anything that supports AJAX Framework.

Thankyou
