Look at the lineup of new content tonight:

Duel

Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?

Don't Forget the Lyrics

Clash of the Choirs

We got a lot of game shows and reality television to look forward to this winter and spring if this writer's strike continues much longer. If only Microsoft had an subscription model for their video content in the XBOX Marketplace.

Technorati Tags: tv

Know a good Exchange Hosting provider?

We've been using 1&1 for years, but over the last several months they have had a unbelievable amount of downtime as they continue to try and upgrade to Exchange 2007.

Does anyone else out there use a hosted Exchange provider that they like? Keep in mind we only have 2 accounts, so places like Rackspace won't deal with us. It would also be preferable if they do web hosting also so we can use one provider for all our domains.

Precedent Set - $10,000 per song fine

What a bunch of CRAP! Almost $10,000 per song. And it could have been as much as $150,000. This bullying by the music and movie industry has to stop. But now that they have this win, I think it's going to get a lot worse.

Will Bionic Woman Be Canceled?

First a show like Cavemen is allowed to see the light of day, now Bionic Woman's ratings are dropping like a stone.

“Bionic” fell 30 percent during its second episode to a 4.0. Moreover, this morning the industry is buzzing that the pivotal second “Bionic” episode, the result of extensive behind-the-scenes retooling, was a creative disaster—cliché-packed dialogue, a nonsensical villain, one-note characters. The much-heralded arrival of Isaiah Washington (who in a New York Post story Wednesday proved yet again you don’t need bionics to be a tool) was a non-event; just another performer trying to inject humanity into a clunky show whose most arresting visual is Miguel Ferrer’s neck jowls.

Have any of you watched this show an not liked it? The only thing I don't like so far is how much emphasis they seem to be putting on the Good Bionic Woman vs. Evil Bionic Woman.

ABC Triumph: 'Private Practice' Overthrows 'Bionic Woman' (Great, another medical drama.)

Did anyone else see the premiere of Cavemen? I mean I knew it was going to be bad, that was the only reason I tuned in at all. But I couldn't even make it to the end of the opening party seen before turning it off. It just hurt to watch. And I watch a lot of crap shows on TV. Just ask my wife.

This show must end. And soon. I feel cheated somehow just knowing it exists.

Windows Live Pricing

Something I noticed in the InfoWeek article from the previous post that I hadn't seen before was pricing for high volume sites: $0.25 / year / unique user for sites that have more than 1 million unique users per month. Or $250,000 per year minimum. It doesn't say anything about traffic less than that. But I have seen limits posted of 25,000 calls per day. After that you need an agreement with Microsoft.

Does anyone have any pricing information below the million unique users mark but above the 25,000 calls per day mark? Or any detailed pricing information at all on one of Microsoft's sites?

Saturday night Kendra and I stopped in this little wing place and were treated to karaoke night. One of the customers was in full on Elvis gear. Big hair, glasses, large belt buckle, but no jump suit.

His daughter performed first and her name was actually Lisa Marie. This guy is way into Elvis.

When it came his turn to sing, he made an entrance from the bathroom like it was backstage and was carrying a guitar. He never used the guitar at all, not even pretending. In fact, he didn't move at all while he was singing, just stood there frozen stiff, like he had to take a crap and the bathroom was full. Where were all the Elvis gyrations? Well, you could barely hear him sing and he sounded nothing like Elvis.

So this guy, who is way into Elvis, exposes that fact in public, goes to karaoke, and he happens to be the only person in America who can't do an Elvis impersonation!

Here's to you Mr. Bad Elvis Impersonator Guy, for giving a new fun memory.

"Thank you. Thank you, very much."

Car Sales Elvis

A few years ago my wife and I were buying a car. You know that point where you are out in the lot looking at cars and you just know somewhere there is a sales guy waiting to pounce? Well, imagine when you finally see that guy he looks just like young Elvis. That's what happen to us, and Kendra almost lost it.

Turns out he is actually an Elvis impersonator by night. I don't know if this helps him sell cars, but I certainly remembered him. And we did end up buying a car from him.

Fast forward a couple years later and I'm at Best Buy when I hear some guys making fun of the Elvis guy a couple aisles over. It's my car salesman. I went over and said hello, he at least pretended to remember me. At this point those guys are getting a little nervous since they know I heard them.

I thought about telling him just for the off chance that I might get to see, or be in, a fight with Elvis. But I bet he got the stupid harrassment thing a lot. So I didn't tell him and never got to see him "Use his stuff on them." :)

Now, I tell you this story only to lead to my next post, in this "Elvis' in the wild" set.
