I downloaded both google maps and windows live search to my at&t 8525 but cannot get either to run. I have an unlimited data plan but when I run either application it says it requires a data connection. My GPS setup in Settings is set to Manage GPS autgomatically with no program or hardware ports selected. What do I need to chnage?

Phew tough question. Does pocket IE work for you? Can you browse the web? If so then I have no idea why Google Maps and WLS can't see your connection. Since both programs report the same problem I'd guess you need to call AT&T customer service to figure out why your internet connection is not recognized. Failign that, you might need to contact google and Microsoft support.

As far as GPS... the 8525 does not have an internal GPS... do you have an external device connected via bluetooth?

Thanks for the quick reply. I can browse the web and send and receive email no problem. A coworker has the same phone (just thru Sprint) and his works fine. I do not have an external gps device. I am running Windows Mobile 6 and it offers GPS configuration thru External GPS

Google Maps now seems to work on my phone, but only in relation to the nearest cell tower. I would assume that since Sprint and ATT both are using the same HTC8525 that they both have internal GPS. Perhaps there is just not a driver to access it on the ATT side?
