Two interesting things happened this weekend. Well, arright, it may be interesting in my world.
First off, UPEK announced that they will be providing a BioAPI interace to theri sensors on the IBM/ Lenevo laptops. Interesting stuff, because the way I look at it, you can now have any application on the machine asking for biometirc authentication from the user. I guess this also has a downside because any h4ck3r putting an appliation on the machine can get a fingerprint.
The second newsworthy item was that GE Healthcare and IMS Health have now come to gether to provide integrated halthcare management products in the market. Does this mean that the minute you have an MRI, a prescription goes to CVS? Not just yet, let's see how it shapes out :) I am glad that by the time I am 70, a robot can diagnose problems with my health, then run out talk to my doctor in the back-end and run out to CVS to get my medicine- all while I lay on my EZ-chair :)
