Recently, I had a nice conversation with my dad about my self-worth. Self-Worth? What does it really mean? How much am I willing to sell my soul to make a buck?
It's funny to me how people try to answer such questions. How much are you worth? It's endless of questions some may consider. It makes you tap into - well, You. Let's see a break down of self-worth. We have self-Morals, self-Respect, self-Value, self-Esteem, self-Motivation... Yes, it's endless. How much are you willing to accept, give in, or for most - give-it-up? I've learned that I'm surrounded by low self-worth that think - "It's ok, it might help me grow and be more successful". If those words ever cross my mind about something, mostly likely it's "not worth" it. From what I've learned, there's 3 main ingredients - Selfishness, Depression, and Boredom. There are many ways to gain low self-worth but these are the 3 that are the most effective I've come to figure. How will it help "me"? How much "time" do I have for "it"? What do I have to "do"? and for the real question - How low am I willing to go?
It's also funny to me that most people will take a few seconds to make a decision when something may challenge their self-worth. Some don't even think about it at all and think "I'm bored, it's just for me, and I'm not hurting anyone". Hear the little bell ringing? It's your self-worth. Your self-worth is important or you may find yourself hooking around some street corner or simply doing things you REALLY don't want to do.
Because of what I do professionally in the fashion industry, I see it in some of the photos taken that are put online. It's sad to see people who think they're not worth much but just for a photo. I hope we'll be able to change that and create company of good, worthy people.
Per my dad's advice, self-worth is important - Don't take it lightly...
