Web Control Library Template in Visual Studio 2008

If you are working with Visual Studio 2008, you might be looking for the Web Control Library template that used to be quite apparent in Visual Studio .NET 2003 and kind of hidden under "File - New - Project - Windows - Web Control Library" in Visual Studio 2005.  Check my earlier post on this http://geekswithblogs.net/ranganh/archive/2006/09/06/90370.aspx

Well, in Visual Studio 2008, this option is under "File - New - Project - Web - ASP.NET Server Control".  Yeah that is the place you you would find the template to create a Web Control Library.

Thought this was again tricky to figure out and would help if I post the details over here.

I must be really thick, but I still can't add items of the type 'User Control' to this 'Server Control' project type...what am I missing?

Unfortunately you cannot add Web User Controls to this project type. What type of project would MS have us create in order to package these types of controls?

Well ok, you can create a template and then what? It is not stored as a .dll file so you can't add it to your project. Could anyone elaborate on how to add a template? I'm also qiute curious why it's called a Server control instead of Web control...

Ok, I've figured out how it works. There is a .dll file created - ServerControl1.dll in the Visual Studio 2008\Projects\ServerControl1\ServerControl1\obj\Debug but at first you have to buid the control. You can add you control via task bar (on the left) by Choosing items. You can do this manually as well if you wish to.

in server control library how to add name space of using.system.data.sqlclient;
this namespace is not wrking in server control library
