The trend towards video help

Technorati Tags: ,,,

So I'm trying to learn the new AJAX stuff in .net 3.5.  I've done quite a bit of web development, but the AJAX toolkit kinda skipped me.  So I browse out to the getting started section of ASP.NET, hoping to find some documentation with examples on how to use this stuff, and all I find are stupid videos!

I hate this trend, and it seems to be increasing.  I read very quickly, and can skim documents to find what it is that I want.  Skimming a video is next to impossible--you have to break every once in a while to see if they're talking about what you want, and if you can't listen to the sound, the video is useless!  Plus, a video uses far more bandwidth then a stupid text document.

I don't care if it looks cool, IT'S NOT USEFUL!  PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!

# re: The trend towards video help

I completely agree. Videos are great for things like showing off a new technology, but not for documentation and tutorials.
