Well, it boils down to this:

1 - If global warming is a hoax, and money is spent on it, all that will happen is...nothing. It will just cost money.

2- If it's real and we do nothing, it could wipe out the human race.

This seems like buying insurance, not fun but necessary. So then I have to wonder who benefits from putting out the message I read in your post? I've heard that exact verbiage verbatim on the radio, online and elsewhere. Obviously someone doesn't want us to beleive in global warming.

Good to see that one man is standing out against all the people who have studied the climate for the last 100 or so years.

People seem to forget the fact that it's not Al Gore saying these things, nor is it that danged evil "Popular Press". It is reputable climatologists who publish in peer-reviewed journals and who know about gamma rays, sunspots and all of the other things climate change skeptics want to try to blame.

Interesting opinion. Among other things, you note about "global warming people" (fanatics? are they one and the same?) that "They receive lots of money to do the research." Steven Milloy certainly receives large amounts of money from Tobacco and Oil companies.

About the only thing I agree with in either your opinion or Steven Milloy's is that we don't know enough. But we certainly know more than you or he think we do.

I have to agree with the first person there have been too many researchers, especially in the artic who have discovered this process and can date it back to 2000 years instead of the 10-20 years most "global warming" spastics believe. Just 30 years ago the world was worried about freezing over, isn't this enough proof to say that there is a cycle going on? If not you may be able to find the research done on the net.

Every year, the polar caps melt further, our weather gets more irregular (more weatherextreem records broken this year than ever before!) and the global temperature rises more each year.
Sure there is a natural cycle, but all the signs are there! We people are seriously contributing to the global warming. Wake up, man!

Global warming is a complete scam. I wish these supposed activists would actually do some of there own investigating and see that the majority of scientists DO NOT believe it is happening. Only a select few but the mainstream media makes it out to seem the other way around. Scientists use computer models to forecast this so called warming but the information input into the models are biased to begin with. We cant even get a 3 day forecast correct and we are looking 30 years down the line. Yeah Right.

It is said that anti-global warming people are either religious apocalypse nuts or oil company zealots. For the record I am a humanist who composts, drives a small diesel car and recycles when sensible. Big companies and government lie all the time (Iraq for example) and is more than capable of producing its own propaganda without my help. I also read a lot and have a background in science.

Follow the money is the maxim and the allies will be support each other. In this case the anti-money is on cars, oil, meat and probably defence and the religious right. On the pro side are scientific researchers, greenwashers, environmental pressure groups and more recently CARBON OFFSET TRADERS (the real big scam).

When they say that the arctic is melting faster than ever, it has only been monitored since 1980. We therefore have no idea what the true state should be. Global changes like this need to be viewed over 10,000 years not a few decades. If this is done any recent changes fall well within the parameters we are seeing.

These end-of-the-world scenarios are ONLY computer projections that say if so and so happens such and such will happen (in 300 years time). Other computer models will show the opposite but only the disaster ones are being broadcast.

This is all to make money for the Carbon traders and will probably turn out to be as big a fraud as Enron.

Ask yourself this. If Al Gore really believes his message is the most important message ever why hasn't he released it as a free streaming video? So far it has made $49 million. It must have recovered its production costs.
