OK, this is the last one until the election, I promise.

I just came across this post from Russell Beattie. It got me thinking of how Canadians feel about the candidates and how the perception here is so different, and we're your next door neighbours, I can only guess what the rest of the world thinks. Specifically, I thought about two things:

1. Last week Erika and I were at the local Blockbuster and the number one video was Fahrenheit 9/11. In fact there was not one copy available. I was happy with that and I only hope that the same thing is going on all over America. Yes, it's a little show-boaty and tries to make connections which are sometimes tenuous, but the overall point is well made. Bush cares about the rich, Iraq is all about money and revenge and American (and in turn the world) is suffering for it.

So, if you haven't seen it and are in any way undecided or leaning toward Mr. Bush please do yourself a favour and see this movie.

2. Here in Canada it's being reported that Canadians overwhelmingly choose Kerry over Bush. Just check out some of these links for the details.

Some highlights:

Majority Of Canadians (60%)Would Vote For John Kerry As Next President of The United States Versus George W. Bush (22%)

Strong Majority (73%) of Canadians Agree They Like And Admire Americans, But Only 29% Say They Like And Respect Current Bush Administration

"In very few countries would you find even a close race," Martin, director of the University of Montreal's Chair in American Political and Economic Studies, said in an interview.
"Maybe one or two countries have an actual close majority for Bush but you have to look hard."

So please, just get out and vote, we'll all be better for it. The only thing I'll miss are the Bushisms. Pure comedy gold.
