It will be intersting to see how the 3D desktop develops after its release. Sun seems to have gain momentum with its open source initiative. This reminds me of the old Unix days when Bell labs had System V under wraps while Berkley work BSD out in public. MS seems to be keeping these open source initiatives progressing
