Martin Abbott not just .net
I recently had the good fortune to attend a free Microsoft event on BizTalk Server RFID.

I’ve had a little play with BizTalk Server RFID in the past but one thing I hadn’t realised was that when you create a process it actually creates a WCF service and publishes it to IIS.

RFID Admin
rfid admin

IIS Manager
iis mgr

Note the hosting.svc file and the process.svc files.

Over the next few days I hope to have a closer look at these and see what they expose and what you can do with them.

Overall I find this quite cool but I also wonder whether many organisations would want to run IIS on their edge servers just to accommodate RFID processes and cannot help but think that running them in a different host would be better.

I raised this with the Microsoft guy who ran the event, he made a note!
