The Real Sharepoint Themes for WSS 2.0

Here's how Sharepoint Themes should be implemented, check out these impressive themes by Infotech Canada.

Having tried them on our WSS sites I was amazed at how these themes liven up the original dull looking Sharepoint sites. The subtle changes such as the tabbed effect menu bar and the thin web part borders makes a big difference to the look and feel of the Sharepoint site. In my opinion these themes are better than the ones that came with the official Microsoft Sharepoint application templates which were released a while ago, these older application templates are demoed on Bil Simer's Sharepoint site.

the installation instructions that come with this free theme pack is self explanatory.

There are 3 steps to deploying new themes, first you load the theme images to the following location...

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\IMAGES

then load the theme files to....
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\THEMES

and lastly modify the themes template file according to the given instructions...
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\SPTHEMES.XML

Themes are implemented differently in MOSS, unfortunately these WSS 2.0 themes won't work in MOSS without some modifications.
