I've subscribed to Yahoo! Music's Launchcast Radio - it lets me select the artists that I like played on my radio station - it then plays songs by not only these artists but also related artists (which it figures out by doing an union of my playlist and other users with matching artists) the result is absolutely great music. I've discovered quite a few artists who I've never heard of before but couldn't forget them after listening to them once. One such singer is Laura Pausini - never heard of her before I heard her on Yahoo! and it’s no surprise as she sings only in Italiano. I fell for her voice the moment I heard her song on Yahoo! though I don’t remember what that song which played on the radio was called, I was busy doing a Live search on the artist to figure her web site.
Laura's newest album is called lo Canto (which in English means The Song :) ) - its an absolute treat. My favorite song from the album is called Destino Paraiso - absolutely brilliant. Other good songs from the album include il Mio Canto Libero (My Free Song), lo Canto.
Though I can't understand a thing of what she sings (I have almost zero knowledge of Italiano) I can't listen to anything else other than her songs for the past few days. Guess like they say Music has no language. When I took French classes in high school - my tutor always used to tell me that the best way to learn a language is to learn it by listening to songs in that language. Years later I'm realizing that is true - I'm now so curious to know what Laura sings with so much passion that I keep translating lyrics into English on BabelFish. I'm learning Italiano at quite a good pace now :)
