Windows Nostalgia!

The best part about working at Microsoft is that you have access to just about every software ever written by Microsoft - All licensed for you to install and see and try out. I could get my hands on the program that started it all - Windows 1.01 - Here's a screen shot of Windows 1.01 running inside a Virtual PC, the VPC is running with 4MB of RAM :-)

[For some reason if the images don't load up and it gives u a 403.1 - hit Refresh on yr browser!]

Windows 1.01 wouldn't even detect my mouse - I wonder if the mouse was even supported then - maybe it was, maybe it wasn't - I’m not quite sure.

Here Windows 2.03 - now this one detected my mouse pretty well - again running on a VPC with 4 MB RAM.

Finally the closest to what most of us have ever seen - Windows 3.01,nah not Windows 3.1 or 3.11, this is 3.01. But a more familiar windows, again running on a VPC with 4MB RAM :-)

Pretty nostalgic stuff - touchy....
