Ok I'm going to vent a little.

I pre-ordered Force Unleashed at gamestop.com.  As with all pre-orders it asked for my  address and credit card and gave me the option to ship to my house or go to store.  Not wanting to pay the shipping when the store is close by I chose store.

Show up at the store to pick the game.  I tell her I have a pre-order, she pulls out the game and says "Ok, that'll be $54.99".  So I tell her, I pre-ordered, I already paid for it online.  She says no, that's just a pre-order, we didn't really charge your card.  I said, "yes, you did."

"Do you have your reciept?"

"No"

"Ok then you'll have to pay for it"

Told her I wanted to cancel the order and left the store.  I check the email later and sure enough, it says in all the text that no one reads on the order page that "pre-order" to gamestop doesn't really mean pre-order, which is defined as "paid for part or all of the purchase when placing the order"

To add insult to injury, the same paragraph goes on to say "If you do not pick up the product within 48 hours of notification, we reserve the right to charge your credit card a $5.00 re-stocking fee.So not only did they waste my time going to the store to pick-up my "pre-order", but now they're going to charge me for nothing.

Good-bye GameStop, hello Wal-mart.

Feedback

# re: Gamestop Sucks 12/8/2008 2:47 PM daniel's a tard
I just went to Game Stop for the last time. I've been a regular customer at the location near me since it opened a few years ago. I'm recognized there usually on site. Over the weekend I went to trade in a game I got as a gift. I made the mistake of leaving it in the shrinkwrap.

Duane - the greasy, long-haired, tattooed, Hot Topic-dwelling ass-munch at the counter - proceeded to inform me that he could not accept the trade in, nor would he accept it that day because of the shrink-wrap on it, due to "fencing of stolen property" laws.

So this BUNGHOLE just accused me - a REGULAR CUSTOMER - of shoplifting a game and trying to fence it. I'm an adult, I pay cash when I go there, and I go there a lot. I took my game back, bought ONE title so I could get a receipt of the visit including a feedback code and this jerkoffs name, and filed complain with corporate office. I'll take my used games and Craigslist or eBay them. And from now on I'll go to ANY STORE OTHER THAN GAME STOP.

And Daniel - STFU.
