Ok I'm going to vent a little.
I pre-ordered Force Unleashed at gamestop.com. As with all pre-orders it asked for my address and credit card and gave me the option to ship to my house or go to store. Not wanting to pay the shipping when the store is close by I chose store.
Show up at the store to pick the game. I tell her I have a pre-order, she pulls out the game and says "Ok, that'll be $54.99". So I tell her, I pre-ordered, I already paid for it online. She says no, that's just a pre-order, we didn't really charge your card. I said, "yes, you did."
"Do you have your reciept?"
"No"
"Ok then you'll have to pay for it"
Told her I wanted to cancel the order and left the store. I check the email later and sure enough, it says in all the text that no one reads on the order page that "pre-order" to gamestop doesn't really mean
pre-order, which is defined as
"paid for part or all of the purchase when placing the order".
To add insult to injury, the same paragraph goes on to say
"If you do not pick up the product within 48 hours of notification, we reserve the right to charge your credit card a $5.00 re-stocking fee." So not only did they waste my time going to the store to pick-up my "pre-order", but now they're going to charge me for nothing.
Good-bye GameStop, hello Wal-mart.
