Yeah it would be greatif they had a downloadable trial. But seriously guys, did you really expect that was possible? The file size would be too enormous to download or transmit, considering it already takes long enough to install the game off DVD and CD. Furthermore, the marketing of forcing people to buy a game for a free trial basically speaks for itself considering how most people get hooked on the game for at least two months. This is really sad, everyone, a few facts, clear facts:

~If you buy the game you get a free trial

~Why not a free download: its obvious if you have any common sence. They would make no money off you buying the damn game to have a trial. Think of it like this, instead of paying for 1 month of gameplay for $15, you are paying $50 for 1 month. Its marketing; get some common sence.

~And you cant crack an mmorpg, its impossible. They beta test that stuff. They try to hack their own games after taking measures to prevent it, or that's what I would do. One more thing, you'd get banned if they see a character that hasnt paid to play if you did sum1 mysteriously hack. Since that cant happen, you're out of luck. Yopur best chance is to steal your friend's dad's credit card number, or become a waiter and steal sum1 elses. Of course you would get caught, hmmm, what a shame.

There is something called a BAF.. Bring A Friend campaign that WOW is doing. If you know someone who has the game they can install it on your computer and with a special code they can get you from WOW admins you can play it FREE for 10 days after which time you must purchase a copy of the game to enter the authentication code into..

Its in theforums of the game and most intelligent people know about it..

I can download a gig in a night 2/3 in a day and my connections average.
I would have no problem downloading a limited 'trial' version of wow, so you also have no point here.

Free trails usually spring up after the initial sales period has ended and the rush to get the game is over. This way people have yet another method to give developers money for their game and developers have yet another sales pitch.
Or alternatively developers do it as a last ditch attempt to save a game.

But the fact remains downloading a game with today's average users bandwidth is a viable option.

I am a big fan of try before you buy, which is why p2p is so popular. If you like it though pay for it or your screwing over decent developers and that is where idiots screw the gaming industry, not the inital download. 4/9/2005 2:52 PM | Sphynx

The way MMPORG's work...
1. Buy the game
2. Create an account
3. Register your CD Key with your account
4. Free trial is applied to your account
5. After trial is over, pay for additional play time

The only way to play the game without actually buying the game is...
1. Steal the game, install it and enter the CD Key
2. Steal a username and password that someone has registered. By doing this you can access their characters as well as create your own.

Well seeing you can get free trials for other games such as Planetside off the planetside site you would think they would have a trial for this game seeing it is more expensive, and you don't wanna go out and buy it and end up not liking it because then you would have spent the 40-50 dollars on a game that you will never play. lmao u guys r so retarded. Ok this is how it works. You download bitcomet right? (download it at download.com search for bitcomet) then u install bitcomet. Then u go to www.isohunt.com and search for WoW in the torrents and get a working file. It may take a few trys to get a good one. If U cant find it on isohunt then go to google and search for WoW torrents. Once u do that open the torrent file with bitcomet. Let it download. I'm in Australia and my local game shop has WoW DVD Demos on their counter. I picked one up for $2 and have been playing it for 3 days now, and it's obviously the full thing. It lasts for 14 days, but then if you want to keep going you need to go in and swap you disc + $40 for the full game and i'm fairly certain you can't keep your charecters. Ok i downloaded the trial on file planet, and when it finished, it said it was corrupted. I think alot of people got the same thing, so maybe the trial isnt working anymore.

the game comes with a main cd key which you use and then you lend the discs to a friend and on the back there is a guest code which stays open for ten days. i bought this game and i love it. there is no downloadable version and the pay to play thing can be by passed wolfrider. you can buy an accound off the internet wich comes with a character and usually already payed for for between 1-2 months. however at the end of that time you will have to pay again if you want to keep playing. thats the only way unless you charge it to a credit card so the payments are automatic. 1/1/2006 12:29 AM | jihumpar

WOWOWOWOWOWOW Fools! There are some really foolish people on this forum. Guys you have to realize that unless you know of a private server you are not going to be able to play on WoW's Official servers for free. Stop being cheap asses and just go pay the $20 a month to play the game, its worth it. And if you happen to be a poor ass than you need to search your ass off and find some private servers. I know of a site that gives off at least 30 servers per patch, if you guys are good enough you'll find it. But don't ask me to post the site cause Blizz will be all over it and eventually close it down and it is by far the number 1 resource for WoW private sevrers right now. So you got three options buy the game, ask a friend for the 30 trial account that came with their copy of WoW, or find the private servers...

Oh, and you need to stop asking for a cd key because the chances of you finding one that is not in use is very unlikely. Cd key Generators will not in any way work for the game and just typing in a random key will also not work. To the folks to which this may concern:

I think it's hardly neccessary for the folks whom used poor language to post on here simply to insult and degrade the general populous. Most of these people dont know everything about the internet or how to search for something properly. Hence, they post on a site like this, hoping to find some answers. It shows no class and no Intellect to attack everyone. If you have information, share it and without attitude. Nobody likes an ass and you aren't helping anything by acting like one.

For the record, many MMORPGs star off with a free trial before the game gains popularity. They do this and allow only a certain amount of the games software program to be accessed. If people without money wanna re-establish a free trial every couple of weeks, most gaming faces dont mind because its still only a taste of what they have to offer. Example: Everquest 2 does, in fact, have a totally free 2 week trial download. In the download, you are only awarded with the beginners isle for the experience of the game. If you want to progress past lvl 10 and really sink your teeth into what there is, that's when you must purchase the game. There is no way to hack the MMORPGs as they ALL have seen to every possible tactic of this illegal use.

Please do try and think before you type and post as you are only making yourself look foolish and callow. Thie is a place to go to for help and information. Let´s try and keep it clean. Children do play MMORPGs too.

On the topic of the Free Download:
No, there once was a free trial, but has since been shut down for reasons undetermined by the public. They might, at some point, re-open it, but until then, stick with what you got, play at a friends house or bite the bullet and purchase it at your nearest video game retail store.

I hope this helped at least 1 person.

And do post if any further news should arrive on the re-opening of the free trial.

i think its posseble to crack it.

I am thinking to start to play WOW :D
I even bought a gamecard :D :D :D
But.....
Unfortunatlly I didnt know u need to have original wow, wich is provided with authentication key u need to cr8 an accouunt >.<!!!
So I would be glad if some1 could sent me 1 unused authenticating key...pls, so I can start playing.
