Personal Web Site Starter Kit

For those that haven't seen it yet, the Personal Web Site Starter Kit based upon ASP.NET 2.0 is out and I have a couple of MSDN articles for you on how to work with it:

Introduction to the Personal Web Site Starter Kit
Extending the Personal Web Site Starter Kit

Enjoy!

PWSKit ships with VS2005 aswel as VWDeveloper as a Project Template, Select File>New>Project and Select PWSKit.

Bill, I have used PWSKit and your articles provide to be really helpful for building sites using PWSKit. [Thanks]

Bill,

Would you know how to bypass using the Web Site Administration Tool to create an Admin role?

I am unable to set the Provider using the tool. I have configured the provider manually in the web.config.

Bill,
Using asp.net configuration tool, I receive "Please enter a different password." when trying to create a new Administrator. I also get the same message when I try using the "Register" page of the Personal Web Site Starter Kit. What am I missing? Any suggestions will be greatly apprecitated.

Bill,
I found the solution to "Please enter a different password." when trying to create a new Administrator when I read the "Introduction to the Club Web Site Starter Kit". It said:ASP.NET 2.0 requires a strong password containing at least eight characters, including a combination of uppercase and lowercase characters, numbers, and special characters (for example, !, #, $, %).

Where are the icons from the Extending the personal website starter kit that are referenced? I don't have these anywhere. There are posts in MSDN looking for them as well. Thx.!

Thanks for the link to the 'Extending the Personal Web Site Starter Kit' tutorial; it came in handy. I will definately experiment with my own modifications, I think creating my own blogging system using SQL 2005 (like yours) would be a good start ;)

Cheers, Matt.

Hi Bill,

How can I specify Meta tag for Keywords for individual content Pages? This may be important for search engine to crawl my content.

Cheers, Karthick
