Dead: 0 (This is getting old. It's time to wack some bad guys Jack)
Honorable Mention: We almost got to see an eyeball cut out. That would have been, well... interesting. :-)

Ok, finally we got Jack out of CTU. Being “at the office” puts a serious damper on Jack's death toll. That President is such a weasel but then again I guess they all can't be Palmer. I also glad to see them bring Mike Novak back into a good light so to speak. I'm not a huge fan of his character but it's not bad. Finally Agent Pierce, I would really like to see them bring him back into the story line more, like on day 3. I believe a Jack / Agent Pierce duo would be quite entertaining.

The Jack Bauer Carnage Counter – Day 5: 11AM-12PM

Ok, I'm a few days behind. Sorry.

Day 5 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Dead: 1 - Another slow day for Jack. The prop department must be short on blood this season. Anyway, in a rather cheesey scene in medican Jack happens to catch the reflection of his would-be attacker and after nearly getting his ass kicked he shoves some medical clamp type insturment into his neck. After that, since the guy was still blowing bubbles in his own blood Jack rams it deeper into the guys neck. I don't know about you but when he ramed that thing in there the second time we came out of our seats.

Ok, I said it back on day one, Chole's boyfriend just wasn't right. Now granted, I thought he'd be bad... and the jury is still out on that.

I'd comment on the mess that is Jack's love life but I'm a dude. Honestly, I'd rather he just shoot something. :-) See you next week.

The Jack Bauer Carnage Counter – Day 5: 9-10AM and 10-11AM

Day 5 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Dead: 1 - Through some crafty but impossible cell phone reprogramming Jack managed to remote detonate one of the terrorists vests. Please, I hate it when they do something so improbably or even in this case impossible. It just makes everything so cheesy.

Day 5 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Dead: 2 - Once Curtis finally busted in Jack was able to free himself by cutting his flex-cuffs with a broken window. Jack then picked up a handgun off a dead terrorist and killed 2 with some obviously very accurate shooting. :-)
Honorable Mention: Once the terrorist leader realized he was going to be captured he tried to kill himself. Jack of course intervened with a well placed shot (depicted by Jack closing one eye as though he was trying to aim carefully). This shot knocked the gun out of the leader's hand. He didn't give up however and crawled over to one of his minions and blew himself up. That takes dedication.

So Chloe is back at her desk and the team is flowing again only to be slowed down by that new guy from Division. My wife and I tried all night to remember what sit-com he was off of in the 80's but we drew a blank. Perhaps someone else can help me out. Nevertheless Chloe and her “lover” were able to help Jack pull off his only kill from 9-10.

I was less annoyed by Edgar over the 2 hours. Perhaps he is growing on me? Nah...

Oh, forgot to mention on Sunday. I can't believe how HOT that had Michelle looking just to kill her off. Bastards!

The Jack Bauer Carnage Counter – Day 5: 7-8AM and 8-9AM

Its season 5 of the best show on television and with that brings the Jack Bauer Carnage Counter. Some of you might find it a little strange but hey, it’s a TV show. At our house we keep track of how many people Jack kills, tortures, roughs up, humiliates and talks back to. It’s more fun that it sounds.

Day 5: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM

Dead – 4 (1 in the smoke around the helo, 2 in the sedan and the final one in the oil refinery after he confesses.)
Unconscious – 1 (A poor unsuspecting helo pilot / EMT, he never saw it coming)
Honorable Mention – 1 roughed up abused teenager in need of a serious haircut and some parenting.

Day 5: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Dead – 0 Zip Zilch (After you’ve done this for a while you’ll realize it is a rare hour when Jack doesn’t kill someone)
Unconscious – 3 (Ok, so he knocked some people around this hour. One FBI agent in the garage. 1 Secret Service agent in Wayne Palmer’s kitchen and finally 1 unidentified agent (probably Secret Service) in the stair well.)
Honorable Mention – Ok, so one person did die in close proximity to Jack. Jack didn’t pull the trigger but the cyanide pill the guy chomped down on took care of it.

Chloe is growing on me as a character. Sure, she’s annoying but ever since they put her in the field on Day 4 with an automatic weapon I’ve been fond of her. I'm not sure I'm trusting that new boyfriend of her's.

I am sad to see the Edgar character back. He just whined way too much for me last season. Perhaps during Day 5 they’ll give him something more to do other than cry.

Stay tuned to tomorrow where we’ll surly up the death toll and if we’re lucky he’ll blow something up.
