I have to agree with you as we just bought a "D" body laser 917 two weeks ago.(917-608 ) As it is a 1600 VW motor, and only about 70hp, it should still get about 35 mpg. Also, at that low hp, it would be safe to let the teenager ocasionally borrow it for a hot date (much safer than a vette) With the price of gas these days, the wife didn't think I was totally crazy buying this as it is much better than my PU truck and going to work would be much cheaper. Besides, she thinks it is pretty cool.

Lasers are a great built super radical GT is a class all by themselves no other grass roots kit comes close to all they offer,
I sold one vette to get back into kits so thats just how cool they are
