First, the workout:
Bike
5 min warmup
10 1:1 (lvl 1 @ 140 RPM, lvl 20 @ 50 RPM...those were my goals anyway, and as long as I hit that for 75% of the minute I was happy)
Weights
20 side raises @ 30 lbs/hand (
-10 reps)
20 straight raises @ 30 lbs/hand (
-10 reps)
20 military press @ 30 lbs/hand (
-10 reps)
20 bent over rows (modified) @ 30 lbs/hand (
-10 reps)
30 straight arm pulldowns (triceps) @ 55 lbs/hand
30 bench press @ 30 lbs each hand
30 bench flies @ 30 lbs each hand
40 leg press @ 240 lbs (
+10 lbs)
30 hamstrings @ 190 (
-5 lbs Didn't realize it was 195 last time)
30 row @ 105 lbs (
+5 lbs)
40 shoulder shrugs @ 40lbs/hand (
+5 lbs/hand)
So obviously this was my first workout in a week, and it showed...I'm kicking myself for not finishing another set of 10 clover reps (the side raises, straight raises, military press, and bent over rows), but if I can hit the gym 3 times this week instead of just the once I did this last one, I should be alright. Haven't done many crunches lately either...hmm...
And now...
THE BEST NEW WAY TO TAKE PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS EV-AR!
So I got home from the gym, got out my jug of GNC-brand chocolate flavoured whey-protein, and my L-Glutamine, and proceeded to open the fridge to get the milk out. EGAD, there's no milk!!! Curses...what do I do? Being a solution-minded developer, I consider what other beverages implement the IBeverage interface in my fridge and in doing so create a beverage so amazing that EVERYONE will be drinking it after workouts. It combines muscle building protein with mind-alerting caffeine. So here's what you do: in a blender combine 1 scoop chocolate flavoured protein, teaspoon of L-Glutamine, and the secret ingredient...
Cherry Flavoured Coke One.
I kid you not...crazy delicious AND good for you! It tastes like a coke float, but chocloate-cherry flavored...and it goes down way easier than if you mix with milk.
Try one today, I swear you'll be a fan.
