Well it seems like it has been an eternity that I have been talking about starting a user group. So here we go, I'm going for it. It seems that before I secure a location, I need to know about how many people will join the group. So I propose a location in Berkeley Heights NJ. It is convenient for me so that is where I picked. ;)
Actually I had considered Summit or Bedminster. I think the location I had lined up in Bedminster is too small and Summit has been impossible to secure a location. But I have some friends in BH that I think I can call in a favor with.
So to the "Survey" part. Post a reply to this blog if you are interested and would be able to attend in Berkeley Heights (ironically home of the original NJ Developer Group). The focus of the group will be UI, which at first I thought hmmmm there won't be enough content to keep the group going, but then I started a list;
WPF,CAB, ASP.NET, AJAX, Web Parts, User Controls, SharePoint, XAML, Smart Client, Mobility, Tablets, Office 2007, SQL Server Reporting, and component vendors like Jersey's own Infragistics. And isn't Vista as much about cool UI as it is about security? Beside everybody knows the UI is the cool stuff and everything else is just the plumbing. And we all know what goes through the plumbing ;)
I'd like to start up around mid January or February depending on interest and my ability to secure a location. Just like the other user groups we would meet once per month. Please... please let me know if you are interested ASAP....
If you don't know Berkeley Heights, it is convenient by 24, 78, & 287(sort of) and has a train on the Gladstone line. I will do my best to land a spot close to the train, but I can't promise this yet.
Also, if there are any interested speakers please let me know!!!!!
