In a shock annoucement Warner Brothers have annouced that they are dumping HD DVD in favour of Bluray. This effectively means the party is over of Toshiba and Microsoft. This is a big blow for both but for Microsoft at least they can offer a Blu ray external addon!
Also in a low annoucement it looks as though the Lord of the Rings trilogy will now only appear on Blu ray. Newline the studio responsible for LoTR is owned by Time Warner which in turn is owned by Warner Bros.
