My Advent Candle seems to have a problem, but could answer why I'm having trouble keeping up with everyone:
From SilverlightCream.com:
- Silverlight 4 elevated permissions
- Corrado Cavalli has a good detailed tutorial on SilverlightShow about the Silverlight 4B Elevated trust scenario. He discusses the user experience, how to detect elevated trust mode, what you can do with it, HTML Hosting, and Notification Windows.
- Experiments using MEF, MVVM and Silverlight 4 Beta – Part 6: Design-mode ViewModel and calling a WCF Service
- Davide Zordan's 6th episode in his MEF, MVVM, and Silverlight 4B series is up, and he's working with different ViewModels for design and run-time along with using MEF to initialize the DataContext at run-time and asynchronously getting the data and passing it back using MEF... all with code.
- My XAP file is 5 Mb size, is that bad?
- Braulio Diez has a great post out on SilverlightShow that discusses that huge XAP file you're waving around and what to do about it... lots of information and external links.
- That's a WrapPanel and I am outta here... [A balanced WrapPanel implementation for Silverlight and WPF!]
- David Anson responds to a query about spacing a WrapPanel's contents out evenly in the available space... and we're talking Silverlight 3, 4Beta, and WPF... go get the source!
- Silverlight 4's New COM Automation Support
- Jeff Prosise's latest outing is discussing COM Automation in Silverlight 4Beta... of course this is OOB and elevated permission but still... cool demo and source.
- MEF, Silverlight and the HVP
- If you haven't seen it yet, Jesse Liberty has a great tutorial up on Hypervideo and MEF. This is a continuation of the project he's building in his blog posts. Simply tons of information and external links... go read it!
- Build your own databinding inspector in Silverlight Spy
- Yikes is this good stuff... Koen Zwikstra demonstrates using the DLR Shell in Silverlight Spy to run some Python script to extend the use of Silverlight Spy ... how cool is that??
- Silverlight and the AG_E_NETWORK_ERROR – a thrilling story!
- Giorgetti Alessandro had an unexpected AG_E_NETWORK_ERROR (when are those expected, huh?), and details out his debug process plus the solution.
- Silverlight Snow Storm – Merry X-mas & Happy New Year
- This is just too cool... John Bruin is using Andy Beaulieu's Improved HitTest method to produce some nice fluffy snowflakes that stick, and after a while melt and generate more flakes... all with source... and dang if it doesn't look real!
- RIA Services Enterprise Business Application Attempt Part One
- Colin Blair has a post up that sounds like the beginning of a series on investigating RIA Services for the enterprise. He's got a new WCF RIA Services class library for you to play with called AppServices. Check out the post and download the code!
- WCF NET.TCP Protocol in Silverlight 4
- Radenko Zec has a post up at SilverlightShow talking about the new Silverlight 4 capability to use tcp.net protocol with our WCF services. He discusses not just the why but the how...
- Silverlight Advent Calendar: December 13th: Working with Bing from Silverlight
- Gill Cleeren has two more posts up in his Silverlight Advent Calendar Series since I posted. The first one is all about lashing up Silverlight to Bing.com and he also leaks out some info about his book that's getting ready to come out... very cool, Gill!
- Silverlight Advent Calendar: December 14th: The Local Connection API explained
- Gill Cleeren's next looks at the Local Connection API we got in SL3 and demonstrates communication between two 'islands' of Silverlight.
Stay in the 'Light!
