- SilverlightDesktop 01.10.00
- Michael Washington has been working on this SilverlightDesktop site for over a month. I've gotten the impression he didn't want it announced previously, but submitted this one, so now we can talk about it! The desktop itself is a bit deceiving in that the real coolness is in the infrastructure built in, and the interactions involved. Take a close look at this... it's well worth a look, fully-downloadable, and he even has a forum setup for it... let's get some action out of this :)
- Silverlight 2 Beta 2: Doing Data Part II
- Peter Bromberg posted part two of his Data and DataBinding in Silverlight article series at Egghead Cafe. This article uses WCF and LINQ to SQL... so all good stuff!
- Look Ma’ No Code
- Jesse Liberty produced a portal for his various places on the web, and has a very cool layout and select scheme in Silverlight for the three main Silverlight areas. The article itself discusses the visual (rotating) effects on the menus... pretty cool, Jesse :)
- Silverlight Encryption (Part 1)
- I was wondering where I missed chrishayuk's first 2 articles of this 3-parter on Silverlight and Encryption, and whoa... he posted all 3 today! This is a cool discussion of Isolated storage and how to encrypt what is going in there. The next article is Silverlight Encryption (Part 2) - Generating the key , and is followed by part 3...Silverlight Encryption (Part 3)
- nibbles - Grand Piano SL2B2 and States
- I had seen Celso Gomes' GrandPiano in SL2, did not realize it used states when I saw it, and for some reason didn't post about it. Then maybe it's me, but I find the nibbles site not only very interesting, and filled with great info, but it's vexing to find my way around! Rather than try to explain how I found this article and the next two, I am simply posting the links that go directly to the "download or run" page.
- Oxigen 360 degree view - Image Sequencer
- In ths application from Celso, he takes the 'bike' of his logo, and rotates it using a circular gadget... try it to see... I love it... this is the 'thinking outside the box' stuff that I hope we see more of in Silverlight rather than finding ways to make desktop controls for the web!
- 360 degre Panoramic View
- This application almost made me sick... lol ... no, really... I got the mouse too far to one side and the panorama started spinning and my stomach started to spin with it until I closed my eyes :) ... very cool!
- Silverlight 2 – Media Player with Marker support
- Joel Neubeck and Tim Heuer have been sort of trading back and forth, and Joel ratchets up the ante with Maker support in a Media Player ... all good... read what Joel writes!
- Silverlight: How to Bind Controls to your own Custom Model.
- Scott Barnes of MossyBlog took off on binding controls to a custom model, and uses a shopping cart as an example.
- How to Retrieve and Process an RSS Feed in Silverlight 2
- Pete Brown takes off in this example on RSS with Silverlight and even though I know it's been in there, very few articles have touched on it, so this is good stuff!
Stay in the 'Light!
