Silverlight Cream for June 1, 2008 -- #288

Lindsay Rutter's Silverlight Webcast series, Jesse Liberty Webcasts on Control Styles and Control Templates, plus creating a project from xaml and code-behind, Lee on Animating while scrolling, and Mike Taulty on SL Streaming Improvements.

From SilverlightCream.com:
Upcoming Silverlight 2 Webcast Series
I found this by way of Frank LaVigne, and it appears that Lindsay, a DE from near Philadelphia is doing a series of SL2 webcasts during June. Looks like something to put on your schedule!
Silverlight 2 Control Styles
Jesse Liberty snuck a couple videos through on his SLMicroBlog Twitter feed. This one on Control Styles, which if you are not familiar with Styles will be an eye-opener :)
Silverlight 2 Control Templates
The second recent webcast release by Jesse is this one on Control Templates which is a tad more involved than Styles, but as with most things, Jesse has a way of making things become clear.. great detailed information!
Creating a Project from xaml and xaml.cs files
In this blog post, Jesse addresses what to do when you get some xaml and code-behind from someone ... always something good to know when you're hanging around blog sites :) ... follow Jesse's instructions and you'll be cranking up that code pretty quick... good info Jesse, thanks!
Scrolling with ease
Lee has some interesting animations with scrolling here. He has a live demo and code to download... interesting material as usual, hope everyone is keeping copies of this stuff :)
Silverlight Streaming Improvements
Mike Taulty reports some enhancements to Streaming and has links out to a couple relevant articles.

May 2008 Community Credit Winner!

I had taken a look at Community Credit quite a while back, but hadn't looked closely at it. After a quarterly MVP chat with my lead where Karl Shifflett talked about it, I took a closer look. I entered all my stuff from April, and actually thought I'd be in the running for the lowest prize, but wow... some of those guys get LOTS of points :)

I entered some things for May and read up on how they 'curve' out people for a while when they win something and realized all the big names were curved out until at least June 1... bonus!!

The only thing I did beyond my normal blogging, attending things or promoting things was to also list them on Community Credit. GeeksWithBlogs is setup to automatically enter the values so that helps. I also added links from everything back to all the Community Credit sites since I knew this might be my one and only shot at something useful :) -- and I ended up with the Grand Prize -- a USB Podcasting kit... how cool is that??

Take a look at Community Credit, and join in the fun!
