Just Have to talk about good stuff--Sprint Tech Support

No really... this is good :)

I have a Samsung A900, and am not a 'talk' person, so my minutes are way low every month. I didn't even do text until Adam Kinney asked me to hook SilverlightCream up with Twitter

But I DO email. The facility I am in does not allow much in the way of email or outside connections (see innumerable past posts). So I use Sprint Mobile eMail to connect to my 3 main addresses. Anything of importance, I can forward to my work OWA which IS allowed in my client's facility, and then I respond through a form I setup on my site.

So when the phone took a dump on email the first time, I was unsure what to do. Clearing all content was not what I expected though, but that's what I had to do :(  Typing all the account stuff in on a phone keypad sucks and there's no cut-and-paste. I know... maybe I should have gotten a Windows device, but I was a phone newbie and it was a great deal!

I think this has happened 3 times now and this last time I couldn't get the email application to d/l. It would run to completion then say it didn't download correctly and try later. It did that for about a week and a half and finally I called Sprint.

The guy I got on the phone was great... he gave me the info that nobody else has. I'd repeat it exactly here, but it might be  specific to this phone, so would be counter-productive. He had me type ##nnnn# where nnnn is a 4-digit number. It then asked if I really wanted to reset the Power Vision parameters and I said Yes. It then asked for a 6-digit code that he assured me was not a one-time use, and then bada-bing... I was able to d/l the app!

The future will only tell me if this same magic will work when email locks up on me again, but I'm certainly going to try it first!

I know that me and lots of other people are VERY quick to complain about poor customer service, and our cell phone carriers are really likely targets, so I just thought I'd give kudos where it is due.

I didn't write down your name, but you'll probably recognize the situation if it is you... thanks!

Stay in the 'Light!
