To turn off the annoying customised menus in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook etc) do the following:

1. Start up an Office application eg Word.

2. Select menu item 'Tools' - 'Customize...'.

3. On the 'Options' tab, check (put a tick in) the 'Always show full menus' check-box, then click on the 'Close' button.

That's it

You may want to specify that this is for Office versions _before_ 2007

I have tried this inumerable times and yet whenever I open my OUTLOOK, it requires me to do it anew. I am stymied as to why the check that I place in the box to always show full menus magically gets unchecked whenever I re-open OUTLOOK. Any clues?
Thanks,
Marc
