My self-imposed ban of all things internet/web/online games, etc is over. At approximately 10 PM last night, I completed reading Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows.
I swore off all things Net related at Midnight Friday b/c I didn't want some spoiler-monger to ruin my enjoyment of the last of this quite excellent series.
AND NO--I'm not posting spoilers on this blog. Do not post spoilers as a response to my blog entry. In fact, for the time being I am disabling comments for this post. I don't want to ruin anyone else's enjoyment of this book.
However, I will say that as a Harry Potter fan, I was quite pleased with this last novel. It was a bittersweet read b/c I knew that if J.K. Rowling's statements are to be believed, this was the last time I would get to read about the adventures of Harry, Hermoine, and Ron. The last time I would read about Fred and George teasing everyone around them. The last time I'd get to read Hagrid's extremely dialected English.
However after a 12 hour plus reading marathon, in which I only stopped for lunch, I am pleased with the conclusion of the Harry Potter saga. Are there questions unanswered? Of Course there are, anyone who's a fan of the book would want to see more more more more.
But are the big questions setttled? Oh yes, most assuredly. And anyone who is a fan I think will be satified with the conclusion.
Once those in my immediate circle have read the book I may be more inclined to discuss it here. But for now, if you were thinking about reading it...you should.
