Enterprise SOA
Authors: Dan Wood, Thomas Mattern
ISBN: 0596102380

To start off, I was rather disappointed in this book titled "Enterprise SOA'.  The book in its entirety seems more like an evangelistic effort by SAP than one that focuses on Service Oriented Architecture concepts.  I should have caught wind of this seeing that one of the authors is employed at SAP.  Nevertheless, it seems a bit misleading to title a book 'Enterprise SOA'.  It would have been more fitting to include SAP in the title.

In any case, I did get a few things out of this book.  For example, the SAP products line and their interactivity.  If you wear a business analyst or software implementation hat, then this book might be of value.  Unfortunately, for software engineers, this is a book you can pass on.  Lastly, the Q&A format of this book did not work well.  It was analogous to FAQs that you see on websites.  They are great for answering short high-level questions; but the FAQ answers to the questions are never at an indepth level.

My SE's point of view may be biased since these general overviews and Q&A formats may be sufficient for people with other job functions.
