Sam Abraham Software Engineer/Architect: Putting Customers First
Sam Abraham (Me) will have the privilege of speaking with Joe Homnick at the Gold Coast .Net User Group October 2010 meeting about The Open Data Protocol (OData).
For this talk, I plan to demonstrate how the Open Data Protocol can be leveraged in an ASP.Net MVC solution to consume data feeds using JQuery.
Speaking at the Gold Coast .Net User Group brings back good memories. It was at the Gold Coast group that I first met Alex Funkhouser, Sherlock Technology’s President a little over a year ago. At the time, I was happily employed in NY but happened to be on vacation visiting my in-laws and decided to attend the user group meeting. After an engaging conversation with Alex, I ended up sending him my resume should a good opportunity come up in the Sunshine State. Two months later, Alex and his associates contacted me with regards to a potential opportunity at a local security software company in South Florida (where I work today). While the new job paid less than what the Fortune 100 company I used to work for in NY did, the position empowered its incumbent with the flexibility to continuously explore latest and greatest Microsoft technologies and to leverage them in the extremely critical security industry. I loved my job and life in NY. However, the prospect of going after the American Dream (buying a house) as well as the unique job description were enticing enough for me to go ahead with the relocation.
I look forward to joining Joe Homnick next week to speak about OData at the Gold Coast .Net User Group.
P.S. I will back again at the Gold Coast .Net User Group on October 28, 2010 to speak about Microsoft's latest technology releases at the SoFla PDC 2010 event taking place in Boca Raton, FL. For more information, please visit:
