London Girl Geek Dinners key sponsor for 2006 Announced!

I am happy to announce that Microsoft are London Girl Geek Dinners core sponsor for the final quarter of 2006 to the early part of 2007.  With a lot of work from Nicole Mathison, HP and Abigail Sellen, Cambridge Labs Microsoft we have finalised sponsorship.  It couldn't have been done without these two ladies and it means that our events can remain free for a while!

Originally I wasn't sure about Microsoft being a core sponsor of ours because I don't want the event to be taken over by Microsofties, so I just want everyone to know that just because they have sponsored us it doesn't mean that they are going to take it over and we will still have speakers from a variety of different organisations.  We are also open to secondary sponsors and the format of the events will not change unless the girly geeks want it to...

I am just trying to figure out a few ways of getting more females involved with events and speaking at events and over the coming months you may notice a few bits and pieces popping up from time to time.  More about those in the future though!

There is still a whole lot more to come out of London Girl Geek Dinners so I hope you are looking forward to the future, coz I am!

Yay to our first major event sponsors!

Lovely news! How about listing a few of the benefits arising from the Microsoft sponsership of the London Girl Geek Dinners, especially for the attendees and presenters.

Sheamus,

You are right I should really put something together for the girl geek site page about that... I anticipate putting it all together over the coming week and then posting an update on my site about it too.

It's all a matter of finding the time to get all the information out there. Sometimes running the events and site is like a part time job in itself!
