"Last Night, at BarCamp... there were Werewolves...!"

Well yesterday afternoon was full of fun sessions and I hosted a discussion group on how we could positively encourage more women to come along to events such as BarCamp.  The turn out hasn't been too bad here at barcamp but the male female percentage was still coniderably skewed to around 80/20 male/female.

We didn't come up with any hard solutions but there was a lot of constructive discussion about how best to inform the ladies and girls about events.  It seems that either they are just not interested in the events, or they just don't hear about them... any feedback on what would make you as a woman (if you are female) come to developer events would be most useful for future events organisation.  The podcast for this session can be found here if you would like to find out what was discussed.... I take NO responsibility for the comments etc that were stated in this podcast!

Later in the evening after pizza and beer... NO comment on what group that choice was aimed at... ;)

Then following on from food there was a choice of mashups and an odd little (BIG) game called Werewolf... now I don't exactly know how to explain the rules to the game but basically look at this site and you will find all the info about it.  It is hilarious and addictive... I am sure others have written more about the mysterys and addictions of this game.  I would however like to say I am NOT a WEREWOLF and have never been one!
