Prove that you are a geek! (if you dare!)

Go on... prove it!

I'll start...

I can prove that I am a geek because...

  • I code in my spare time.
  • I don't hate watching a computer screen 24/7...
  • I love gadgets!
  • I adore the latest and greatest softwares!
  • I want to own my own software development company one day!
  • Did I happen to mention that I loooooove coding...
  • I am a problem solver
  • I love challenges
  • You struggle to drag me away from my computer or mobile!
  • Oh and by the way I love coding!
  • I have used Linux (I can't say it's my favourite OS but I have used it!)
  • I program embedded devices!
  • I have programmed mobile devices
  • Oh and yes you guessed it.... I LOVE coding

Beat that!

1) there are more computers in my home than people (~16GHz, ~16GB RAM, ~1.5TB storage)
2) I have my own Exchange server and it's the size of a novel;
3) you've seen my book shelf;
4) there are more mobile devices than hands, feet and heads in my household;
5) I'm a MVP :P
.
.
.
I could go on...

OK Simon, yes I do go to geek dinners... I even organise girly geek dinners... :S I guess that is quite geeky!

Hmmm... Dave... I'm not sure if I should even talk to you any more after you suggesting I could ever be a fake geek!!! It looks to me as though you are stereotyping geeks... (now what have I told you about that!)

Do you know the history of the Star Wars universe? Can you speak fluent Klingon?Do you have other developemnet tools installed on your system besides VS, like Eclipse, Mono, QT designer, SharpDevelop. Have you ever used UNIX, not Linux, Not Mac OS but HP-UX, Solaris, or IRIX? Do you use the Classic theme or the Luna theme in XP? Were you signing into online bulletin boards at the age of 14 using a 9600 Baud Modem? Have you ever spent 19 hours straight coding? Until you can answer yes to all of those, except my klingon is rusty, then my dear I have you out geeked BWAHAHAHAHA :)

heres one have you ever coded a chemical lab automation system in assembly. or have you ever found that you had to run qnx for those realtime mission critical apps that you made for it.
how about assembly on atari and did you curse the intel register on top of register design when changing over. and do you remeber good old razor or TDM in the BBS system :) out geeked maby I am. I still dont speak any off world movie dialects though.
