Well I went off to beautiful Egypt for 2 weeks on holiday and it was beautiful. Before I went I vowed that I would not take gadgets with me... Well what did I take with me... I had my mobile there and only used it to send texts to parents to let them know that I was alive and to a couple of friends to organise my journey home. Other than that it was turned off and ignored. I was armed with pens, paper and books... and that was pretty much it really.
After the initial shock of not carrying my mobile or mp3 player about everywhere and not having the internet at my fingertips things were ok. That initial shock was odd though. Especially since the hotel had an internet cafe. Which a hasten to add I managed to avoid!!!! (it took a lot of effort!) But I have proven to myself that I can survive without gadgets if necessary. It's just a shame that other people need to be told that I am OK and everything is fine using technology... Oh well... I did my very best!
I would recommend Egypt as a holiday destination to anyone who loves sunshine, water and history.... OOOoooh and Diving! I loved every minute out there! And I have no doubt at all that I will be back there again!
