The Girly Geek dinner is TONIGHT!

Well the day has finally arrived when the girls in technology meet up at last. The question is how will it all go. Will everyone be really nice to each other or will it be an I'm better than you are fest. (I hope not!)

It looks like the organisation for the event has gone pretty smoothly thanks to a few very helpful people. (You know who you are! Thank you!) I'm sure it will be a very eventful evening and I am looking forward to it.

A few tips to the newbies to the world of Geekdom.
- Don't be phased by people talking techie at you... You can just ask them to explain in simple english terms. They won't be offended.
-There is no need to be nervous, everyone is in the same boat, just be yourself and have fun.
- If you find yourself wondering what to talk about, just ask people a few questions. Any subject, whatever you like.
- By the end of the evening everyone gets tired of telling each other what they do, so try to think of something different to talk about to capture their attention.
- Try not to look too scared or like a startled rabbit when you arrive. Look around see what and who is where, and then work out where you would like to be and who you want to talk to.
- Bring your business cards with you. Most of all just make sure you have a great time and make some good contacts in the industry.

See you there!
